The Story of Rocklin Nails
Hello, my name is Khiem, and I’m a single parent with two wonderful sons. I came to the U.S. nine years ago, and since then, my life has been full of challenges and hardships. But through all the tears and struggles, I never gave up. I remained positive and strong, even when I had to stand back up on my own after falling. I wasn’t always lucky in life, but in some ways, I am lucky where it matters.
On my birthday, June 16, 2024, I reflected on my dream: to open a small nail shop. I wanted a place where I could escape from being disrespected and where my small family could survive and thrive in America. Then, something incredible happened. One day, while talking with one of my dear customers, Amy, she looked into my eyes, held my hand, and said, “You can do this. You are strong and should be proud of yourself.” At that moment, I felt something change inside me—her words sparked a new strength in my heart and mind.
So how did I achieve this dream? I had the unwavering support of my family—my parents, my sister, and my brother. They stood by me every step of the way. Thanks to their belief in me, I was able to make this dream a reality.
On July 1, 2024, I held the key to my very own shop—Rocklin Nails. I couldn’t believe it. It was real.
I DID IT.
